How this list is ranked

Ranked by completed solves over the last seven days, not by page views. A player who opens a board and closes it again does not move anything up this list; a player who turns the whole grid green does. That is why the order here changes slowly — a puzzle people actually finish holds its place, and novelty on its own does not.

Where each board sits

Waffle Game

The most-finished board on the site, and the one with the highest return rate. Every letter is visible from the start, so nobody bounces off it for not knowing a word — the difficulty is entirely in the swapping.

Wordle

Second by solves, first by sessions that end in a share. Six tries is short enough that a loss does not sting, which keeps people coming back the next day.

Dordle Wordle

Fewer solves than Wordle but a longer average session, because two boards take real thought. It over-indexes with players who already finish the daily Waffle before breakfast.

Deluxe Waffle

Second only to the daily board by solves, and first by time spent. Twenty-five swaps across eight words is a genuinely different puzzle, not just a bigger one.

Waffle Unlimited

The same board as the front page without the midnight wait. Its numbers spike at weekends, when people have time for more than one.

Word Blast

The most divisive board in the list. Players either solve it in three minutes or run out of lives — there is very little middle ground, which keeps its solve rate lower than its popularity suggests.

If you are new to the site, start with the daily Waffle board and work down. The list is deliberately ordered as a difficulty curve as well as a popularity ranking: Waffle teaches you the three-colour language, Wordle asks you to apply it blind, Dordle doubles the load, and Word Blast throws the colour system away entirely and asks you to find connections instead.
